2008
Anne Peach is presented the Becky Award and WRC installed an impressive board.
WRC awarded a grant to the Sexual Assault Treatment Center for presentation of Every 90 Seconds , a live performance and curriculum that educates students about sexual assault. This is the only recognized and approved curriculum by Orange County Public Schools that addresses this topic. Presented from April through May, 2008 at 12 Orange County high Schools, over 7,544 teens were reached through this program.
WRC membership meetings:
- Baby Shower benefits the BETA Center with over $1000 in new baby items from WRC members.
- "Christmas in July " membership meeting at Ten Thousand Villages to benefit this worthwhile organization.
Eight non-profit agencies were recipients of the 2008 Summit Impact Grant . These grants, totalling approximately $60,000, were made to fund programs which are designed to support education, prevention and issues related to sexual assault.
Award of a scholarship of $1000 to Charlotte at Valencia Community College through the Valencia Community College WRC Scholarship Endowment .
The 24th Summit Awards. Congratulations to this years winners: Mary K. Carr, Maureen Kersmarki, Helen Von Dolteren-Fournier and Corine Varn Wilson.
WRC Holiday Challange grant for donations to Healthy Start's Mall where mothers can get items that they want or need for their children raised over $1000 in gifts and cash.
2007
Ten non-profit agencies were recipients of the 2007 Summit Impact Grant . These grants in the amount of $5000 each were made to fund programs which are designed to support education, prevention and issues related to sexual assault.
Award of a scholarship of $1000 to Dayna Netzorg at Valencia Community College through the Valencia Community College WRC Scholarship Endowment
Support of the Clothesline Project by providing volunteers, over 300 t-shirts and other supplies.
An inspiring 23 rd Summit Awards. Congratulations to this years winners: Wendy Chioji, Jennie Joseph, Lucille O'Neal, Jan Stratton and Cristina Dos Santos.
A grant to the Sexual Assault Treatment Center for new flooring.
A grant to the John C. Garrett Thanksgiving Food Drive . Together with Joy Metropolitan Community Church and various other community organizations, WRC worked to provide over 1,400 meals for underprivileged families throughout Central Florida during Thanksgiving week.
Through a WRC Challenge Grant, the WRC membership adopted 3 families from the Women's Residential Counseling Center (WRCC) for holiday gifts and awarded to WRCC funds to help other families during this holiday season.
2006
Implementation of the new Summit Impact Grant – a grant that will award funding to nonprofit organizations that will “ sustain or initiate programs that support women in our community”
Award of the inaugural Summit Impact Grant to Shepherd's Promise . This grant will provide funds to implement a new bimonthly series of workshops to educate and empower women served by Shepherd's Promise.
Award of a scholarship to a deserving your woman at Valencia Community College
Supporting the Clothesline Project by providing volunteers, t-shirts and other supplies.

Funding to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief for families in Florida
A grant to the Sexual Assault Treatment Center.
A grant and helping hands to the John C. Garrett Thanksgiving Food Drive . Together with Joy Metropolitan Community Church and various other community organizations, WRC worked to provide over 1,400 meals for underprivileged families throughout Central Florida during Thanksgiving week.
Adoption of 6 families from the Women's Residential Counseling Center for holiday gifts.
2000-2005
Needs Assessment Study – WRC commissions UCF to conduct a needs assessment study entitled “Analysis of the Needs of Women and Girls in the Orlando Metropolitan Area”.
WRC Endowment Fund – WRC establishes a permanent endowment fund through the Community Foundation.
Career Clothing Boutique – WRC provided, cleaned, sorted and mended and stored slightly used professional clothing. WRC then assisted Welfare to Work clients in choosing outfits appropriate for the work place and then continues to provide them with clothing on a monthly basis to build a wardrobe after they begin working.
Women, Welfare and Work – WRC created this project to strengthen individual assets of welfare recipients and provide assistance during the transition to employment. This was a collaborative effort with other local women's organizations.
Sexual Trauma Recovery Center – WRC contributed support in establishing a “comfy room” at the Sexual Trauma Recovery Center at Arnold Palmer Hospital Center for Children and Families. The comfy room provides victims of sexual assault with a safe, familiar room for treatment and therapy.
WRC Valencia Foundation Scholarship Fund- WRC establishes a scholarship for women who want to attend VCC. It is meant to encourage women to begin, continue or complete their education.
Summer Scholarships - WRC had provided scholarship assistance which has allowed young women to attend the Gifted Students College Summer Institute, YMCA summer camp, the Girl Scouts (camp and uniforms), and the “Everything Has a Price” program.
SATC – WRC partners with Florida Hospital , the Orange County Health Department, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Orlando Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the State Attorney's Office and others to develop the Sexual Assault Treatment Center. WRC provides a full-time employee, clothing and toiletries.
Puppet Show – WRC underwrites Puppet Show about sexual assault/abuse for public school and provides funding for a nurse to answer question asked by the schoolagers.
20 th Summit Awards Anniversary – WRC celebrates it's 20 th Summit Award with a salute to all of it's previous winners.
SATC Certification Grant – WRC awards SATC funding for travel and tuition for training provided nationally to such groups from across the Country.
2005 John C. Garrett Thanksgiving Food Drive – WRC awards funding for the John C. Garrett Thanksgiving Food Drive which provided 1,350 Thanksgiving baskets for the homeless.
Health Masters Camp – WRC awards funding for tuition for 3 diabetic children to attend the Health Masters Camp, which promotes nutrition, exercise and methods to control diabetes.
The 1990s
Appointment Collaboration - WRC and the Junior League create a database of qualified women to match with government advocacy board positions in order to increase the number of women appointed to such boards. Developed and presented workshop “Don't Miss Your Appointment” to help women prepare for board appointments.
Alliance - Representatives from various women's organizations meet under the WRC umbrella to inform their members of legislation affecting women.
Florida Clothesline Project - WRC is a co-founder and sponsor of this on-going spring event that provides a safe forum for women to speak out and allow healing. This impactic visual display bears witness to the violence the women have experienced and educates the public about the extenT, prevalence and impact of violence against women.
Women Take Control – WRC initiates, plans and sponsors a self-defense program taught by Orlando Police.
WRCC - WRC assists the Women's Residential and Counseling Center Board of directors in strategic management plans, goal setting, board development, by-laws revision and financial management. WRC donates money to complete the renovation of 105 rooms in the resident center.
Diverse Discussions – WRC co-sponsors the discussions whose mission is to inspire and empower women through a series of events.
Homeless Women Project - WRC develops a pilot project to ascertain what needs of homeless women are not being met by other agencies, but could be met by WRC Members. From this project, WRC provides clothing for women residing at the Coalition for the homeless. Developed and provided seminars: “Maintaining a Monthly Budget” and “Clothing on a Budget”
Political Debates - WRC co-sponsors debates by political candidates, focusing on issues affecting women
Gay Courtier and Judith Briles- WRC sponsors a talk best-selling author Gay Courtier who is a nationally recognized Guardian Ad Litem. Judith Briles is the author of many books for women including 10 Commandments of Confident Speaking
Ad Litem Scholarship - WRC sponsors a scholarship for a girl in the Ad Litem program.
P.A.C.E. - WRC works with the P.A.C.E. Center for Girls' to provide programs to improve job and social skills
African American Female Summit - WRC is a co-sponsor of this event.
Matrix – WRC sponsor Matrix, a group of women dedicated to discovery and defining what is important in the lives of women. 400 women participated in the program.
Summit Awards – WRC establishes it annual event the Summit Awards. The Summit Awards has become the premier women's award event and is presented yearly.
1984-1989
WRC Established because of a need for an organization to serve as a networking center, to provide a place to cross-reference women's concerns and to act as a resource for women moving into Central Florida .
Founded Rape Response whose goal was to provide sensitive professional care and support to rape victims and their families. In 3 years Rape Response became self-sufficient, ready to control its own destiny with its own director and board.
